UNITED24 was Met With Standing Ovation at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2022
UNITED24 was presented at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2022. For the first time since 1954, when the festival was established, the organizers gave the stage not to a brand, nor company, but to a whole country. Ukraine was represented by Oleh Tomin (film director), Pavlo Vrzeszc (Creative Director of Banda), Jamala (Eurovision winner), and Yaroslava Gres (UNITED24 Coordinator). Ukraine’s panel was opened by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy:
“Today, Ukraine’s fight for the world’s attention is as important as the fight for weapons for our army and for new sanctions against russia. As long as the world sees and hears what russia is doing on Ukrainian soil, we are getting more support. I’ll be honest with you – this war’s end and its terms depend on the world’s attention. And that’s why I need allies. We need people like you. Those who are the best at attracting and directing attention. Now you can bring peace to Europe simply by applying your professional qualities. I believe that the power of human creativity is greater than the power of a nuclear state that is stuck in the past. Speak of Ukraine! Don’t let the world switch to something else! The world must remember that Ukraine is fighting for independence and freedom. This fight must end in our victory as soon as possible.”
UNITED24 coordinator Yaroslava Gres called on to the world’s best creative minds to join the platform:
“Our number one goal is to bring more creativity into fundraising. To start collaborating with the world’s most famous brands, the ones that don’t stand on the sidelines, the ones that express their stance and publicly engage their consumers. We want to co-launch projects with the best agencies in the world and we are open to your most courageous ideas because Ukraine’s fight is about courage. We guarantee you complete freedom because Ukraine’s fight is for freedom. Today, I invite every creative team in the world to come to Ukraine. I have tickets for everyone (they say you can meet both Johnson and Macron on this train). Create with us, create for us. We will be your best customer. Create for those who can’t create now, those who, like Oleksandr Todorchuk, are defending Ukraine. Help us win this war,” she said.
