These Are the Drones You’re Looking For: Mark Hamill Launches a fundraiser for 10 RQ-35 Heidrun Reconnaissance Drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, via UNITED24.
The UNITED24 ambassador and legendary actor, who portrayed Luke Skywalker in Star Wars, Mark Hamill, recorded a video announcing the fundraiser for 10 RQ-35 Heidrun reconnaissance drones for Ukrainian defenders.
“Movies teach us that during the most difficult times in history, when evil attacks good, when darkness attacks light, superheroes always come to the rescue. But in reality, things are not like in the movies. There are no superheroes wearing capes, Jedi knights, time machines, or magic wands. Instead, there are millions of real people standing up to real evil. We can help them. Even when we are far ,far away, we can join their fight. I call on you to support the brave Ukrainians, who are standing up to evil right now, and join the fundraiser for 10 Heidrun drones that will help perform reconnaissance missions,” Mark Hamill addressed the international audience.
The RQ-35 Heidrun is a Danish-made unmanned aerial vehicle, with a flight range of 25 kilometers. It can transmit video in real time, allowing intelligence to be gathered without exposing the operator. The RQ-35 Heidrun’s highly reliable radio system is capable of withstanding electronic warfare attacks.
25 of these drones were sent to the front line in Spring. Since then, they have proven themselves as effective and user-friendly UAVs for reconnaissance missions. 10 new drones will significantly raise the reconnaissance potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and help save thousands of Ukrainian defenders.
